Ever wonder what happened to your favorite Tabing-ilog Star, Paula Peralejo? Well, years after her most acclaimed television show, Maria Elena Paula Peralejo took the backseat in show business to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of the Philippines. Yes, you read it right, she finished one of the most tedious and difficult degrees in the liberal arts. But not only that, she graduated Magna Cum Laude... in UP!

Aside from that, she also holds a degree in Interior Design from the University of the Philippines and a degree in Communication from Ateneo de Manila University.

Like the other celebrities in this list, it’s pretty clear that beauty queen and lawyer Anna Theresa Licaros has both beauty and brains. Aside from representing the Philippines in the 2007 Miss Universe pageant and taking home the Most Photogenic award, she also graduated Summa Cum Laude in the University of the Philippines. Not impressed? In 2009, she became a full-fledged lawyer.

A true achiever, Shamcey Supsup-Lee was the class valedictorian in elementary and salutatorian in high school. She then earned her Architecture degree in the University of the Philippines and finished Magna Cum Laude. Beauty and brains personified, her charm and wit won her the Miss Universe Philippines title in Binibining Pilipinas. In 2011, she represented the country in the Miss Universe Pageant where she was named as the 3rd runner-up.

 

In an interview with Inquirer:

“We didn’t have a TV at home [and] my mother never bought me video games… She always gave me books, like fairy tale books. That developed my reading skills and now I read fast; even textbooks, no matter how thick, are light reading for me.” Textbooks as light reading, how about that?

Aside from being an actor and model, Benjamin Alves is a bookworm and was a diligent student in school. He graduated Summa Cum Laude in just two-and-a-half years!He said in an interview that he’s a nerd and would ask professors for a reading list to be two books ahead of his colleagues.

 

Comparing himself with her valedictorian sister, Benjamin Alves told GMA News:

“'Yun talaga 'yung habol ko [class valedictorian]... I didn't quite get there but my dad always said to just aim higher. If you don't reach that, Summa Cum Laude is not so bad."

She then finished a double major degree in Commerce Accounting and Finance at the University of Sydney. According to Preview Magazine, she’s a “self-professed math geek.”

Currently a heartthrob news reporter, he told ABS-CBN that his degree helped him with his journalism career: “There are lots of skills used in physics that I have applied in being a journalist.”

After graduating from the European International School of Manila she flew to France to study fashion design at Le Studio Berçot du Paris. She then went on to study fashion and cosmetics at Ecole Fleurimont and Make Up Forever Academy. She also worked as a dresser during Paris Fashion Weeks and for fashion houses like Fanny Liautard and Lulu Tan-Gan.
